Birtikta creates a WordPress staging copy of your site from one of its backups, on its own address under sitenihazirla.com. Test plugin updates, theme changes or new code there, and when everything works, push the changes to the live site with or without the database. You can also start a staging environment with a blank WordPress for new projects, and pull fresh data from the live site whenever you need it.

Staging environments list with total, active and limit counts, and three staging sites with their source site, PHP version and status.

Clone a site from its backup, or start blank

Pick a site and one of its completed backups, and Birtikta builds a staging copy from it using the same PHP version as the live site. For a new project, choose Blank WordPress and start with a fresh installation instead.

Push to live when you are ready

When the staging copy looks right, send it to the live site. Files Only moves themes, plugins and media and leaves the live database alone. Include Database also brings posts, pages and settings. Pushing overwrites the live site, so take a backup first.

Everything a WordPress staging site needs

Sync from live

Rebuild the staging copy from a newer backup of the live site so you test against current content.

Reset WordPress

Start over: a blank staging gets a fresh WordPress, a cloned one gets its latest backup restored.

Admin access

Change the WordPress admin password of a staging site and open it straight from the panel.

Pause or delete

Suspend a staging site you are not using, or delete it when the work is done.

Built on your backups

Staging copies come from the same backups you already keep for each site.

Test updates safely

Try pending plugin and theme updates on the copy before running them on the live site.

Good to know

How many staging environments you can run depends on your plan. Syncing replaces the staging copy with the live site's backup rather than merging changes, and pushing to live replaces the live files, so keep a fresh backup before either step. Custom stage names are available on the Enterprise plan; on other plans a unique name is generated for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is a staging copy created? +

Choose a site and one of its completed backups. Birtikta builds the staging environment from that backup, using the live site's PHP version, and gives it its own address under sitenihazirla.com. You can also start from a blank WordPress installation.

Does a staging site affect my live site? +

No. The staging copy runs separately on its own address. Nothing changes on the live site until you push to live.

What happens when I push to live? +

You choose Files Only, which moves themes, plugins and media, or Include Database, which also transfers posts, pages and settings. The live site is overwritten with the staging data, so we recommend taking a backup first.

How do I bring the staging copy up to date? +

Use Sync and pick a newer backup of the live site. The staging copy is rebuilt from that backup.

Can I keep a staging site private? +

Yes. Turn on browser password protection and visitors must enter a username and password before the staging site opens.

How many staging environments can I create? +

The limit depends on your plan and is shown on the Staging page next to the number you are using.
